Eligibility Criteria
Any student / aspirant who have successfully completed the qualifying exam i.e. +2, PUC, pre-degree or equivalent course of State or Central Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) with 60% aggregate marks, and English is a must with minimum 60% of marks & NEET to be qualified.
Recognition of the Course
An Indian citizen, who possessing a Medical Degree awarded by any foreign University who is desirous of getting registration with National Medical Commission of India or any State on or after 15-03-2002, shall have to qualify screening test conducted by the National Board of Examination, New Delhi as per the Screening test regulation act 2001, (NMC) Sec. 13 clause 4a and 4b (refer nmc.org.in)
Eligibility Certificate:
Any Student/ Aspirant who have 50% marks on English, Aggregate 50% marks for Physics, Chemistry & Biology in the qualifying Exam (10th, 11th & 12th) & qualified in NEET exam and who has completed 18 years at the time of joining the course, are Eligible for Proceeding for an Undergraduate Medical Course in any Foreign Country provided the Medical School/College/University is Recognized by National Medical Commission of India, New Delhi; has to apply for Eligibility Certificate from National Medical Commission of India, prior to leaving India for higher studies. State Council:
Once qualified in the FMGE/NMC examination, Candidate has to apply for Internship in India, according to the Rules Stipulated by National Medical Commission of India & the respective State Councils.
Screening Test:
The candidate after completion of the course, should apply and appear for a Screening Test conducted by the National Medical Commission of India, in association with National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, and to qualify with 50% marks separately for 2 papers, for practicing in India.
Permanent Registration:
A candidate, who qualifies the NMC Screening Test (FMGE), may apply for Permanent Registration with NMC for obtaining the Permanent Registration for Practicing in India.
Travancore Cochin Medical Council, Kerala
In Kerala State, as per the current rule of Travancore Cochin medical council (TCMC), as on date is January 2021, the candidate who qualifies FMGE/NMC exam, should undergo 1 year compulsory internship (clinical rotation) in any of the state Govt hospitals inside Kerala, irrespective of the country the candidate completed the undergraduate medical degree.
